Our Massive Growth

Judging by our Feedburner stats, The Escort Mission Podcast has got some actual listeners! Even if you discount our own subscriptions and maybe some bots, we currently have about 20 subscribers to the ‘cast. Thanks to all who have stopped by and are giving our weekly chat-a-thon an audition. You all rock.

Credibility Ahoy

Apple has approved our podcast as being super awesome and now lists it in iTunes (well, it might be a couple days before it comes up in a search, but it’s there!). You can use the link in the sidebar or just follow the text below:

We’ve also been accepted by the BlackBerry podcast directory thingy, but I have no idea how you even access it as I don’t have a BlackBerry device.

TEM Podcast 002: Listener Safety Violation

The Escort Mission Podcast

Our second podcast episode is in the can, and while it looks like it’s coming out on the same day as the first, it’s really not. In fact, nearly a week separates each episode! We just figured it made more sense to release both at the same time since while they may have been done then and then, we’re going official now, so, yeah. Two for the price of one, and all.

Our focus this time is a bit less narrow than our first episode as we split our time between the recent release of Fez, exploring the good and bad parts of DLC, and trying to reason with Tom Auxier’s Defense of Boring. Throughout the podcast honest and sometimes harsh opinions arise, which is when the real discussion begins, no?

We continue to have three amazing, auditory-pleasing ways to get the podcast:

  1. Download the MP3
  2. Grab the RSS, and plug it into your RSS reader of choice (Google Reader, et. al.)
  3. Subscribe to the RSS by email

iTunes Store direct-linking/subscribing will be another option very soon.

Any comments, questions, or suggestions can be directed to Facebook, Twitter (@escortmission), Google+, or good ol’ email (mail[at]theescortmission[dot]com). Our FB/Twitter/G+ accounts are not feature or content-rich at the moment, but we’re still breaking ground on the website and podcast, so stick with us.

TEM Podcast 001: A Massive Effect

The Escort Mission Podcast

The Escort Mission has finally gotten their act together and made their first podcast episode, and it is a massive one. Join Mike, Josh, and Chaz, if you would, in their seriously light-hearted audio-based discussion.

The topic of the day is Mass Effect 3 in all of its glory, which includes our thoughts on the game itself, its place in the trilogy, and the much ballyhooed ending. Thus, spoilers definitely abound. We also introduce two features called “Not My Thing”, where particular idiosyncrasies get admitted, and “Best Game Ever”, where a game is chosen to be nominated and defended as one of the all-time greats.

We have three great, nutrient-rich avenues to get at our recorded think tank:

  1. Download the MP3, all direct-like
  2. Grab the RSS, and plug it into your RSS reader of choice (Google Reader, et. al.)
  3. Subscribe to the RSS by email

As soon as iTunes approves of our audio roundtable, we’ll be able to link it more Apple-like. However, you can do it manually right now by just using option #2 and adding it to iTunes’s Podcasts section via the Advanced->Subscribe to Podcast menu option.

We hope you enjoy our stream-of-consciousness conversation and check in with us each week (that’s the plan) for a new episode.
